Change is Coming, Again
Change is Coming, Again
When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. – Dr. Wayne Dyer

Change is coming again, what more is there? May 2022
Dear Compatriots,
… and I looked far and wide, and I stretched my mind and searched my heart, strained my eyes, spread my wings, and did not spare the best of blood, sweat, and tears, -- to find changes that had to be done – I could not find the answer until I looked inside of me, only to find out – IT WAS ME THAT NEEDED TO CHANGE!
Yes, we have to change first without waiting for it to come; if we don’t, all the changes that are being done in the name of survival, progress, and development -- all that is futile, lost in the bottomless pit of self-interest.

Dear colleagues,
2016… The nation, by and large, chose change; strange as it may seem, it chose ‘change’ over ‘continuity’; they said “change is coming”, and it came. It can come with overwhelming force and power like a tsunami;
The nation has spoken and has chosen someone to lead the change; we can choose to be part of the tsunami of change, or stay on the coasts that it will wash away; but maybe it’s not our choice, and we are already part of the tsunami and will shape its course, form, power, and outcome, whether it will wash, cleanse, and fertilize the land, or devastate it.
It is in our best interest to know and understand the words and actions of the one chosen to lead the change. When we know him better, we will know if we are to follow or to oppose, when, and how. And we will not doubt or fear.
Here are words from two Dabawenyos who know him; who grew old with him as he was growing older, a rolling stone gathering no moss to become who and what he is today.
It does not matter if he is right or wrong, qualified or not qualified, local or international, presidential or parochial, a ruthless thug or a hero because things can and will change. Our choices and actions will shape him as much as his actions will shape us. It is in our and our work’s best interest to understand the tsunami and be part of it. It is what Dr. Wayne Dyer means when he defines ‘quantum thinking’: "If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”.
The worst thing that can happen is for it to simmer down and evaporate like a dream, and we miss another chance to let change improve ourselves. Someone once wondered as he gazed at a clay jar – “is it the clay that makes the jar a jar or the empty space within?” Is our Poverty the clay or is it the empty space within?
All the best,
Bob Calida
